On grid installations are connected direct to yours mains supply using an on grid controller and a Windy Boy inverter. Commercial customers have the option of a Total Generation Meter, or ROC meter. Energy suppliers are keen to claim the Renewable Obligation Certificates (ROC) as they are required to have a minimum of 20% of their production from renewable sources by 2020.
An export meter will cost around £250 fitted, for information on operators see
Installing renewable equipment is also an effective way to cut your carbon emissions.
Another benefit of using renewable energy is that it can improve your reputation as a socially responsible business. And upgrading to new equipment needn't be expensive.
Our renewable energy loans
We can offer an
interest free loan to SME's, small or medium
sized businesses to help cover the cost. You can borrow from £5,000 to £100,000
– with the repayments based on the savings- you stand to make by using less
energy.
Off grid installations use a battery bank to store your generated power to use when you require it. These systems are particularly useful for non mains applications using generators or where the customer requires a emergency back up power supply.
New technology in battery design means that battery life is longer, our standard systems have a design life of 10 to 20 years.
If the installation is commercial then they can still claim ROC's using a Total Generation Meter.
Our installations range from small 1kW units to 20kW systems running commercial premises.
Complete systems start from just £5,599.00 to £50,000. Our experience has shown that the larger installations have the fasted payback periods with some installations showing a break even in as little as 6 years.
The figures below give a projection output for each wind turbine based on average wind speeds of 5.0 m/s
| System Generated value | max generation per hour | Typical Annual output kWh | |
| Aeolus 300 | 500 watts | 500 | |
| Coemi-500 | 750 watts | 2,600 | |
| Coemi-1 | 1.3kW | 5,200 | |
| Coemi-2 | 2.5kW | 7,200 | |
| Coemi-5 | 6kW | 14,000 | |
| Coemi-10 | 12kW | 33,000 | |
| Coemi-20 | 23kW | 44,000 |
Unlike large wind farm turbines Coemi turbines do not require gearboxes and therefore rotate without mechanical noise. In addition Coemi use low speed fixed blade designs to minimize blade chop. There operation sound emissions are virtually undetectable at wind speeds of 5m/s at 20 meters, certainly lower than normal background sound emissions.
Our turbines have been manufactured and sold worldwide since 1996. The combination of fixed blades and spring free furling systems this ensures minimum maintenance and ultimate reliability.
The 5kW - 20 kW units use intelligent technology to control furling, this means less moving parts, less maintenance, better generation and higher reliability.
The DTI provide an online wind speed calculator which will enable you to calculate more accurately your local wind speeds allowing you to estimated annual kWh, and match this with the estimated power required for your project.
This prediction will show a 1 kilometre square around your Post Code. This will give an estimate of the average annual wind speed projection (AAWSP). Whilst this figure is purely a calculation based on wind data, it will give a good guide to potential.
